I've always been a bit obsessed with the WI. Tonnes of women involved in suffrage fell into the groups, Slyvia Plath was the treasurer in her local chapter - I think.
They did loads of good stuff, and then lost their way, got famous for jam instead of justice. They're back on the right track now, getting involved in politics etc.

I wonder if any new chapters will spring up?
